
Pupils are taught to develop an understanding and appreciation of a range of literary texts including modern and long
established children’s fiction, poetry, texts from different cultures and traditions, myths and legends, traditional stories and drama. Activities encourage pupils to respond in a range of learning styles. Multi-sensory teaching ensures that all pupils are fully involved with the text and sensory adaptations of stories have been developed to maximise pupil’s engagement.

Pupils enjoy drama activities in the purpose built drama studio. They use a variety of media to record their work including personal writing, video, photography, ICT and audio work. Extensive use is made of the resources in the school’s library.
