24hr Buskathon

You are here:
On 22-23 May 2014, Mike Hirst, former Head at Ravenscliffe undetook a 24 hour challenge of epic proportions raising a huge £3380 in the process.

Mike performed at ten local retail venues (including Tesco (King Cross), Morrisons (Elland), Sainsburys, Pets at Home, Armitages Garden Centre, Boots, The Woolshops, Asda Harveys and Matalan) on Thursday 22 and Friday 23 May 2014 during a 24 hour Buskathon.

Thousands of local people enjoyed a free musical welcome as they shopped, as well as receiving first hand information about the progress of the Ravenscliffe@SpringHall project.    Head Teacher at Ravenscliffe High School, Martin Moorman said: This unique event was part of the fundraising campaign which will allow the new Sixth Form provision at Spring Hall to begin in earnest.  The benefits to both Ravenscliffe and the community across Calderdale will be enormous.  This is a very ambitious project but I am certain that with the continued support from our community, this will soon become a reality.”

Mike Hirst said “I have believed in the Ravenscliffe@SpringHall project for many years and was delighted that I could do my bit with the support of retailers and the Calderdale community to make this dream come true.”
