On Friday 6th June 2014, over 250 people attended our Spring Ball for Spring Hall, raising a huge £9000 in the process.
Special thanks to Louise Wood-Ives for the original idea and all the organisation, ably supported by Julie O'Shea, Norma, Jeanette and her daughter Fran who sold raffle tickets on the night. Mike Hirst again demonstrated his talent; not only handy on a guitar and microphone, but a dab hand at auctioneering! Thanks for your hard work Mike (all for no personal gain!)
We are aware that a lot of time and effort went into organising this and wanted to make sure you realise how appreciative we are. The school office staff of Suzanne, Cheryl, Rob and Trish have done so much behind the scenes for the RHS@SH project: thank you all 4 of you! We had at least 8 Governors in attendance on Friday night and at least 5 ex Governors: again an example of Governors past and present putting their money where their mouth is! More than 25 school staff attended and at least 7 current and ex students!
We were thrilled that so many new faces to our community were willing to attend. Thank you and we hope you will now stay in touch!
A big thank you also to Angie's partner Graham and Robert Crabtree; just 2 examples of the many 'other halves' who helped us with raffle prizes. Huge thanks to all our auction and raffle donators, you all showed extreme generosity and we appreciate it. The auction alone raised over £5,000! To all the auction buyers, our thanks as well for being so generous!
Our thanks to the team from Calderdale Council, especially Councillors Tim and Megan Swift, who I know are committed to making this dream become a reality and to David Whalley and his partner Sam who gave up their evenings to attend and support. You may not have known as many people there as some of us, but hopefully you felt warmly welcomed and enjoyed the evening and now believe in the cause even more!
Thanks to Julie Smith, Darren, Dave Hutchings, Paul Palmer, Phil Bishop, David Hanson and so many others at LBG who have helped us not just with the Ball but across the course of the project. David Nicholson, Managing Director of The Halifax, must be enormously proud of the efforts of numerous staff at LBG who believe in this project and are trying their damnedest to make it happen.
The thank you list could go on and on. Suffice to say that whatever your role with the Ball, we are really grateful. It was an excellent evening, that helped to generate thousands of pounds for the Ravenscliffe@SpringHall project: at least £9000. This is on top of the £226,000 we have raised as a school with LBG support in particular, since January 2014 as a school and a total that now stands around £2.1M!
So If you attended, donated, supported, sold, bought, played, invited or promoted, you have the genuine thanks of the whole Ravenscliffe community present and future.
