The Ravenscliffe@Spring Hall centre was officially opened on Friday 28th September 2018 by Lord Sebastian Coe and Hannah Cockroft MBE, although students had been using the centre since the 4th.
At the ceremony, we celebrated a monumental and almost unimaginable achievement; a brand new, purpose built 6th Form and Community Learning Centre funded largely by the local and wider community.
The project itself took over 7 years from first proposal to the doors opening, and saw literally thousands of people donate their time and money to make our dream a reality. It was quite the journey, and the pages to the right tell the story of how the centre came to being.
Over the course of the project, the School was truly humbled by the generosity shown by so many to improve the lives of our young people and the wider Calderdale community. From the people who paid £10 to Buy-a-Brick in our first community event, right up to the Leo Group who have raised in excess of £350,000, we literally could not have done it without you.
We truly hope that you share our sense of pride in what we achieved together between 2011 and 2018. If you haven't yet been to take a look, we'd be more than happy to show you round (by appointment) or do feel free to come and see us for a coffee at Cafe @ the Track.
With sincere thanks from everybody at Ravenscliffe.
