On Friday 11th July 2014, students from Woodbank, Highbury and Ravenscliffe lit up the Victoria Theatre. With over 1000 people in attendance, theatre goers were treated to a performing arts extravaganza whilst simultaneously marvelling at the talents of over 100 amazing young people.
The event was the fourth community event aimed at raising much needed funds to build a Sixth Form and Community Learning Centre at Spring Hall, Halifax. When combining ticket and programme sales, as well as a bucket collection on the night, the event raised a staggering £6000 for the cause.
Of course the performances of the students far outshone any sum that was raised. Huge congratulations must go to all the dancers, signers, singers and musicians, as well as the staff who supported the event. It really was a night that we will never forget!
The good news is that we plan to repeat the event in 2016, this time celebrating Rio 2016. The show will have a carnival feel, and I'm sure will be as good if not better than Tour De Force.
