
In food technology students study four core areas, basic cooking skills, wise food shopping, diet and nutrition and hygiene and safety. In all food sessions students have the opportunity to learn and reinforce basic food preparation skills.
In the study of resistant materials students work with a range of materials such as wood, clay and card and use different techniques and tools to design and make quality products. The importance of safety and appropriate use of tools and equipment is reinforced at all times. In both areas of technology, students with more complex needs access the subject through a multi sensory experiential approach
